Five Easy Steps to a Complete Colon Check®
- Call Colon Check toll-free
- Eligible Participants are women and men ages 50-74, living in Penticton, Summerland, the South Okanagan, Powell River or Vancouver residents (only available to residents with postal code prefixes V6B, V6C, V6E, V6G, V6Z, V7X, V7Y and V5K, V5M, V5R) who do not currently have any symptoms.
- If you are not eligible, see your family doctor to obtain care. If you currently have symptoms discuss them with your doctor.
- Colon Check mails a test kit to your home.
- You complete the test kit and take it to a local drop-off location.
- Colon Check analyzes your sample.
- You get your results.
- If the results are normal they will be mailed to you.
- If your results are abnormal Colon Check will arrange for a Nurse Navigator to discuss follow-up options with you. Your family doctor (if you specified one when you enrolled with Colon Check) will receive letters about your results.
- If you did not indicate a family doctor at the time of registration Colon Check will refer you to a doctor in your community to help ensure you receive the follow-up testing that is needed.
